Blueshift Multisport coaching is about bringing you closer to your goals. Our mission is to provide an affordable spectrum of coaching services that accelerate progress towards new levels of performance. To this end, we are fast-followers of the latest technology and training methods supported by research and tested within the multisport community. Blueshift athletes don’t just use the latest GPS watches or power meters - they’re fully engaged in their workouts and understand how to make data work to their advantage. They know their coach will review every training file, both individually and in aggregate, to provide specific feedback about their training plan. This powerful collaboration fosters learning and personal growth for both the athlete and coach.
The concept of Blueshift is borrowed from physics. It is a special case of the Doppler Effect where one object sends out waves as it converges on another. As the object moves, the waves begin to bunch up (in the forward direction), thus raising their frequency and their energy. Conversely, astronomers know that the universe is expanding by observing a redshift in the light emitted by distant stars.
An effective coaching relationship operates in a similar way: the coach and athlete work together with high energy and frequent communication to converge on challenging endurance goals. It's a journey that offers much greater rewards when it's supported by someone you know and trust. Whether you want to race for the first time with confidence, step up to a longer distance, or refine your long course racing strategy using power and pace, Blueshift has you covered. Matt Giunta is a passionate endurance athlete, teacher, engineer, and USAT Certified Coach. His journey into the world of endurance events started over 10 years ago. With his sights set on the New York City Marathon, a local sprint triathlon was only supposed to be a fun cross-training opportunity. The ocean swim started out well, but Matt quickly realized that he had a lot to learn after T1. From the exhilarating speed on the bike course to meeting Rick & Dick Hoyt at the finish, the entire race experience was electrifying. The competitor in him immediately started asking questions: What makes these athletes so fast? How does my fitness background translate into a triathlon? How do I improve from here?
Since then, Matt has raced in dozens of endurance events covering all distances. As a graduate student at CU-Boulder, he logged countless miles in the Rocky Mountains, sometimes tagging along with the pros on their training rides. Now an experienced full-time coach and 8-time Ironman finisher, Matt enjoys helping athletes across the ability spectrum to reach new levels of performance. Matt is a professional student of the sport, employing the latest training methods, nutrition principles, and advanced technology to get results. His high-quality training approach saves time and builds multiple dimensions of fitness upon a strong personal connection with each client-athlete.
