It's the final miles of your big race. What's going through your mind?
As the central computer for the body, the brain is the epicenter of the performance you take home on race day. Stress, anxiety, fear, motivation highs and lows - the emotions and body signals we get from training and racing can be quite intense and confusing. This is especially true for self-coached athletes. In training with your Blueshift Multisport coach, we'll build a solid understanding of an intensity framework that allows for appropriate goal-setting on race day. We'll also watch closely for the earliest signs of overtraining. The final stages of your race preparation will include visualization exercises that allow the mind to practice problem-solving successfully.
Through their many years of combined experience, Blueshift coaches can help you master these common mental games:
Transforming anxiety into genuine pre-race excitement.
When the ironman run degenerates into a walk of shame.
Getting past "The Wall".
Selecting internal vs. external motivation sources.
Constructing meaning from both stellar and disappointing race experiences.
Developing a poker face to bluff pain out of your body.
