"Recently I completed my first half-ironman (Timberman) and Matt was instrumental in preparing me mentally and physically. He puts a lot of thought into planning his workouts and comes up with some creative ideas that make training even more interesting. I live in downtown Boston and don't have a lot of time for training but the bike trainer workouts and intervals he designed were great preparation for the hills on the Timberman bike course. This is just an example of Matt's philosophy of very time efficient and quality workouts. "I have been working with Coach Matt since 2007. I came to the sport of triathlon as a marathoner looking for another endurance challenge. After doing four half-ironman events, I decided to do an Ironman as my 50th birthday present to myself.
Prior to hiring Coach Matt, I read every book that I could get my hands on and tried various plans; however, I was working myself into the ground. Under Coach Matt's plan, I was actually putting in less hours...but getting faster and stronger. He had me training smarter and getting the appropriate amount of rest. Also, he introduced me to training with a power meter, which made those long off-season bike intervals fun!! And the Garmin 405 GPS which provides so much data for both bike and run training!!"
